Jason Ivler gets investigation by CHR

Reaction essay from the issue:

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) was tasked to look into the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) handling of Jason Ivler, the prime suspect in the killing of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr, the only son of the Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr. According to Ivler’s mom, Marlene Aguilar (sister of renowned folk singer Freddie Aguilar), Jason was treated “like a pig” during his arrest. I can say that Jason’s mother was instrumental in harboring a known suspect. And I’m not defending any of the actions that she did on her son’s behalf because it was wrong for her to do so. On the other hand, when Jason Aguilar Ivler was treated like a pig maybe because he is heavy but they can call for medic assistant at that time because Jason has a wound already. He’s been shot. Then after that he is thrown maybe because those guy’s who carry him is mad at him because Jason change shoot with them before they can arrest Jason itself. There’s an explanation but the explanation is not good. That is not right, we have human rights. I hope everyone knows what are their human rights to be respect upon by those who have the power and position in the country. Thus, to have a fair justice, a person who committed sin shall be punished no matter what he is, provided that the human rights is not violated so that everyone can see the transparency of what happened for that instant situation.

How important is the english 2?

As far as I observed….English 2 which is writing in the discipline is very helpful to students other than freshmen. This course helps us focus our thoughts and ideas to deliver a strong message also we learn to differentiate between different structure styles. With learning how to write a good paper or post some insights in this blog, we also become critical readers of our own work and works of others.
As a student in this course, I felt like this really helped me. Although I am not a freshman, I do feel that this course can help anyone no matter their educational status. This course helped me gather my thoughts and ideas to form a clearer message.

The Power of the Internet in Spreading English

Before the Internet, it was hard for us to learn English if we didn't attend a college or university. These were the only institutions where the language was widely spoken. If we lived in a community so poor that it didn't have a college or university, our chances of ever learning English were remote. While many people still live in these circumstances today, the Internet has allowed the English language to spread around the world. Because the Internet was invented in the West, English was inherently built into it. Because Internet usage has expanded throughout the world, more people are being exposed to English. The advent of online universities has now made it possible for more people to learn English, people who may live in countries where access to standard education facilities is limited. While it may have been impossible for these people to learn English in the past, the Internet has opened up new career opportunities. These people are now able to learn English, and they can use their English skills to get better paying jobs at home, or they can use them to find jobs overseas. In any event, the Internet has played a powerful role in allowing English to spread across the world, and the number of people learning it is likely to increase in the future.

THE MUST SEE ATTRACTION

Descriptive writing:(Description of a place)

During our field trip in cebu city last 2007, We went to the Taoist temple a little place of calm after hectic downtown in Cebu City. Cebu, in Philippines has become a popular tourist destination in recent times. The island is a lush tropical island with many attractions for the visitors. One of the must see attractions is the Taoist Temple. Gorgeous Taoist temple buildings on the mountainside, overlooking the entire city. There are also several lush gardens, not too many tourists, and plenty of benches and space to relax and reflect with. The main temple and surrounding shrines looked pretty new to me and I think this was built in the 1970s, or the upkeep is spectacular. This temple is situated in the affluent and sophisticated residential suburb of Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills is located in the north of downtown Cebu. Cebu has around fifteen percent cent Chinese in her populations and this temple can be said to a contribution of the island's Chinese community.
The Taoist temple is dedicated to Taoism. Taoism is an ancient religion of China. It is based on the teachings of Lao Tze, one of the noted ancient Chinese philosophers. Taoist devotees follow their rituals on two days, Wednesdays and Sundays. They assiduously climb the ninety-nine steps of the temple to light incense sticks. Having the fortune read by the monks has also become a ritual. The temple was built in 1972 AD, the Taoist Temple is very elaborate and garish. It has a pagoda-style roof. This temple is quite some meters above the sea level. This elevation helps in allowing the visitors to have a glorious sight of the Cebu City. If you want, go in the afternoon and see the approaching evening. Be prepared to be enamored with stunning views of sunset.

What I’ve learned from the previous discussion

Last week, we tackled the topic all about Developing Unified and Coherent Paragraphs. I learned that a paragraph is unified when every sentence develops the point made in the topic sentence. It must have a single focus and it must contain no irrelevant facts. Every sentence must contribute to the paragraph by explaining, exemplifying, or expanding the topic sentence. In order to determine whether a paragraph is well developed or not, we could ask ourselves: "What main point are we trying to convey here?" (topic sentence) and then "Does every sentence clearly relate to this idea? There are several ways in which we can build good and clear paragraphs. From that topic, we came up with a project in getting some examples for every method. I know that this topic is very important because this will give us the tools to develop a well written paragraph especially in making our term paper. This will guide us for having unified and coherent paragraphs.
